Teri Carlson
Masters Level Clinician serving Louisville
Hi, I'm Teri! I'm a Masters Level Clinician finishing up studies to obtain my MSW. Once a Masters Graduate, I intend to complete the requirements to obtain my License and become an LCSW.

While I've had my sights set on entering the Therapy field for a while I had to postpone it for a few years: I have 2 kids and had a different full-time career to provide for many years. The experiences I've had as a parent and pursuing a therapeutic career later in life have formed me into a therapist with wisdom through many life-learning opportunities.

Individuals with challenges in their lives as a result of their physical or personal identities (body image issues, body positivity, LBTQIA, gender, race, etc.) are my primary professional focus. I'm also familiar with the military world (spouse or service member) and navigating relationships with parents.

I have experience in various methodologies that will be woven into the therapy environment with a particular emphasis on Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).

A Bit About Me: I confess it happens less than I want these days (as I'm basically a taxi service for my kids) but when I'm free, I enjoy participating in local theatrical performances - both scripted and improv. When not flexing my extroversion, I am a huge bookworm and I push myself to complete book challenges each year.
